THE GILCHRIST JAR COMPANY, of Elmer, N. J., calls attention to the fact that it is manufacturing machine-made battery jars. The advantages claimed for these jars are an entirely equal distribution of glass, which insures perfect annealing and stronger jar; a finished top instead of the oldstyle rough-ground top; uniformity in the size of the mouth, and the absence of all "blow-over" or fine particles of loose glass on the inside of the jar. The capacity of the company's factory is 15,000 jars a day and this is frequently severely taxed in order to keep abreast of orders.
