Mr. Forée Bain, of 95 Indiana street, this city, has just received a patent for an electric igniter, for gas engines. It is a very ingenious and novel affair, a single impulse of the engine generating a sufficient current to produce the necessary spark at each revolution. It is said to be very reliable and inexpensive, and will, no doubt, be in great request. Mr. Bain has been experimenting for five years on the subject, and has gone over the ground very thoroughly. I am glad to note that Mr. Bain's business is daily increasing. He has a good deal of electrical expert work to do, and his mechanical department is busy.
