Maurice E. Grile, 57; Was
Native of Jay County
Maurice E. Grile, 57, a Muncie resident who had been working in Toledo, Ohio, died. there Monday, apparently as the result of a heart attack.
A native of Jay County, Mr. Grile moved to Delaware County in 1930. After graduating from Royerton High School, he served with the Army in the South Pacific.
He returned to Muncie after being discharged from military service and attended Muncie Trades School. Later he attended Indiana Business College.
For the next 22 years, he was employed by Owens-Illinois as a mold maker and for another 10 years he was an employee of Ball Corp. When Ball Corp. last year discontinued the operation for which Mr. Grile was responsible, he returned to Owens-Illinois where he had been working in Toledo.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Moose Lodge 33. He was a member and secretary of American Flint workers Union.
Survivors include three sons, Mark Grile, Craig, Colo., Kurt Grile, Muncie, and Gary Grile, Largo, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Thurman Esther Shirley, Muncie, and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Stanley Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call in Meeks Mortuary 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and at the church one hour before services Friday.
