Maurice E. Grile
Maurice E. Grile, 57, a Muncie resident currently working in Toledo, Ohio, died unexpectedly Monday evening in Toledo, apparently the result of a heart attack.
A native of Jay County, he came to Delaware County community in 1930. Following graduation from Royerton High School, he served with the Army in the South Pacific theater.
Returning to Muncie after discharge from military service, he attended Muncie Trade School and later Indiana Business College. For the next 22 years he was employed by Owens-Illinois as a mold maker and another 10 years was an employee of Ball Corp. When Ball Corp. discontinued the operation for which he was responsible last year, Mr. Grile returned to Owens-Illinois and had been working in Toledo.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Moose Lodge 33. He was former member and secretary of the American Flint workers Union.
Surviving are three sons, Mark Grile, Craig, Colo., Kurt Grile, Muncie, and Gary Grile, Largo, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Thurman (Esther) Shirley, Muncie, and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Calling hours are at Meeks Mortuary from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday or one hour prior to service time at the church.
