Succumbs at 63

 

David Jones, 63, of 111 1/2 North Liberty street, died at his home at 4:20 o'clock yesterday morning following a brief illness. Born in Warrington, England, on December 5, 1883, he came to Muncie with his parents when eleven years old.

He had been with the Hemingray and Owens-Illinois glass companies for 49 years and had served in many capacities. Recently he was superintendent of the mold shop. Mr. Jones was a member of the Friends Memorial Church and Delaware Lodge of Masons.

Surviving besides the widow, Octavia L., are four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Gates of Hammond, Mrs. Mary Cochrun, Mrs. Edward Cochrun and Mrs. Martha McGibbeny, all of Muncie, and two brothers, Walter of East Chicago, and William of Muncie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Meeks mortuary by the Rev. Robert Jones with burial in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4 o'clock this afternoon.
