Earl Hiatt, 82
Earl Hiatt, 82, died Friday afternoon at the family residence in Mount Pleasant, where he had lived for 65 years.
He was born in Muncie. attended Muncie schools and worked at Hemingray Glass Co. for 49 years before retiring in 1962. He started working at the company as water boy and eventually became plant superintendent.

Mr. Hiatt attended Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church.
Surviving are his wife, Pearle Robertson Hiatt; his son and daughter-in-law, Earl Jr. and Rosalie Hiatt, also of Mount Pleasant; two grandsons, Craig, Terre Haute, and Brian, R.R. 1, Selma; four great-granddaughters, Heather and Gina, Selma, and Stacy and Lindsay, Terre Haute; a sister, Evelyn (Mrs. Carl) Sayne, and a brother, Charles (Todd) Hiatt, Muncie.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church. Burial will be in Mooreland Cemetery.
Calling hours at Meeks Mortuary are 3-8 p.m. Sunday or 30 minutes before services Monday at the church.
