Alphonse Zeller, aged 70, formerly a well known window glass worker. was probably fatally injured last night shortly before 6 o'clock by being hit by a belt line switchengine.

He resides on Ninth street east of the Over window glass factory and for a year has been so badly demented that the family have kept almost a constant watch over him.

He escaped from home last evening and was wandering about on the Big Four switch when the engine struck him, inflicting injuries from which he is not expected to recover.

He was carried home and Dr. Mann called. The physician discovered the skull to be fractured, the left shoulder badly crushed and the left arm broken in two places, besides other serious injuries about the body.

Mr. Zeller has been engaged as a window glass worker for many years, and his a wide acquaintance throughout the entire trade. His popularity is proven by the general regret expressed concerning the accident.
