SWITCH ENGINE STRUCK HIM

A Well Known Glass Worker the

Victim of a Horrible Accident.

Alphonso Zeller Wandered on the Big

Four Tracks While Slightly Demented

and was Fatally Injured.

Last evening about six o'clock Alphonso Zeller, 70 years of age, was struck by a Big Four switch engine and it is thought, was fatally injured. Zeller is a retired glass worker and lives on Ninth street east of the Over factory. For some time he has been demented and has been watched closely by members of his family. Last evening he succeeded in getting out, however, and wandered to the switch where he was struck by the engine. Dr. Mann was called and found that Zeller's skull was fractured, the left shoulder crushed, the left arm broken, and his body injured otherwise. The injured man is as well known to the glass trade as any workman in the city, perhaps. He long was allied to the glass interests of the country. Originally he was identified with the trade in Belgium. He worked at the Hemingray factory in this city until recently.
