Henmingray's [sic] Hemingray's Start Delayed.

Muncie, Ind., July 28. — All the boys are returning home from all parts of the country to make preparations for what all indications point to as going to be one more season's steady work. All are looking much improved from their vacation.

Many of the boys were surprised on their arrival to learn that the Hemingray factory would not start as expected on the 28th on account of not getting all their tanks repaired in time. However, the flint house will start on August 4 and the insulator department as soon as the repairs can be completed. Work on the new insulator tank is progressing rapidly and it will soon be finished.

Among those of importance to return this week was our delegates, James Burk and John Glen. They looked somewhat worn out from the work of the convention.

Next was the return of the Magic City Fishing Club in their special car, all sunburned, which made them look more like Indians than glassworkers. They brought with them 28 fine turtles, ranging in weight from 7 to 16 pounds, consequently we will have turtle soup until the factory goes to work. The fish caught were too numerous to mention. While they did not bring any home, they brought photographs of strings of from 35 to 40 on the string just as they came out of the lake.

The Magic City Fishing Club, of Muncie, Ind., consisting of 15 glassworkers of that town were camping at Lake Manitou, near Rochester, N. Y. They returned from camp in a special car, loaded with cooking utensils and other camping paraphernalia, and bearing the name of the club in large painted letters.

At their camp, they had a great time as they were popular with the Rochester people, who helped to make their vacation a pleasant one. A number of receptions were tendered them. Music was furnished by a mandolin club and a quartet which visited the camp, and in return the campers entertained many visitors daily at their comfortable camping quarters.

The club was composed of Thomas Digman, John J. Sullivan, Peter Concannon, Albert Murray, George Hilton, Arthur Hilton, Pat Leahy, James Kirby, Thomas Doran, Thomas Grundy, Pat Stony, Sam Bird, Harry Neurman, and A. E. Ernst [sic] Ernest.

Harry Neurman acted in the capacity of commissary and A. E. Ernst as the captain of the club. — Muncie.
