HIGH SCHOOL FRATS Two Rival Events Last Night of the Most Brilliant Order. FEATURES OF THE SAME Many brilliant affairs have been given by both the members of the Kappa Alpha Phi and Beta Phi Sigma fraternities of the Muncie high school, but the events given under their directions Friday night have surpassed all former efforts. The Kappa dance was the fourth annual affair given by the fraternity, while the Beta dance was in the form of a farewell greeting for the Alumni members who soon depart for college. Smith's hall, the scene of the former event, was in gay attire for the occasion. Fraternity and Sorority colors formed pleasing decorations, while stationed behind a bank of palms an orchestra rendered an excellent musical program before the opening number on the dance program. Teachers mingled in the enjoyments of the evening while the laughter and gay repartee of all resounded from the gathering hour till the early dawn of Saturday morn. The Beta dance in Franklin's hall was truly a most joyful one, made more so by the delightful music, rendered by Mentani Bros. Orchestra of Indianapolis. The guests were limited to those of the fraternity members and their young women friends. Assisting the fraternity boys were Messrs. and Mesdames O. H. Church, J. L. Kingsbury, and Mesdames Whitney and Harker. At 12 o'clock an elegant four course supper was served by caterer Hummel, while punch and wafers were at the disposal of the merry ones during the evening. The hall was handsomely decorated in evergreen and the fraternity colors, while the glow of incandescent lights added greatly to the effect of the scene. With today the students began to make their departure from Muncie, and by next week all will be in their respective schools for the year's work. Many of the young women students have departed, while those remaining will leave the early part of the coming week.
