A Pleasant Social Event.
The third "Elite" party took place at the residence of Capt. J. P. L. Jennings, No. 1041 Russell-st., last night. The party was one of the most elegant yet given by the club. Among the ladies present were Misses Nellie M. Morris, Mary Lee, Lillie Howell, Lu Jennings, Katie Hall, Juliette Matthews, Misses Buffington and Riddle. The gentlemen included Messrs. Pierce, Porter, Thos. B. Lee, Jno. S. Morgan, Ed. A. Ernst, R. E. [sic] G. Evans, J. D. Cooper, Wm. F. Dohrmann, Eugene Buffington, Geo. S. Bruce, J. H. Crawford, R. B. Miller, and Paul Buffington. After dancing until about 12 o'clock, the guests were invited to partake of an elegant spread prepared by that prince of caterers, John Lehman. The music was furnished by Feine's orchestra, of Newport. After supper, dancing was again indulged in until the "wee sma' hours" dawned, and then all separated acknowledging the fact that the third party given by the "Elites" was one of the most enjoyable social events of the season. Another party will take place at the residence of Mr. Wm. Van Dyne next Friday week. |
