Personals. Dr. Guthrie's lecture yesterday morning was on Spencer's and Drummond's sonnets. Mr. Guthrie is a most delightful speaker. His lectures are a decided literary treat. Mrs. Bradford Shinkle is still absent in New York City and Miss Cornilla [sic] Camilla received the guests, among whom were Mrs. Charles Thomas, Mrs. Charles Simrall, Mrs. George Wilshire, Mrs. William Mortin, Mrs. James H. Rust, Mrs. Joseph Finnel, Mrs. McD. Shaw, Mrs. Thos. Craighead, Mrs. Cox, Mrs. Eaton, Mrs. Frank P. Helm, Mrs. O. P. Schnidt, Mrs. Sam Long, Mrs. Edward Ebbert, Mrs. J. G. Blackburn, Mrs. Durnett, Mrs. Wayne, Misses Hume, Ford, Helm, Hearne, Underwood, Ingram, Prague, Brown, Hamilton, Miller, Mrs. George Hamilton, Miss Anna Perkins, Miss Green, and many others. The class will meet next Monday at 10 o'clock at Mrs. Bradford Shinkle's, and anyone that so desires can attend any single lecture. After the next lecture there will be an intermission until after the holidays. · · |
