The tornado which passed over portions of Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio on the 22nd ult., moved at the rate of about 90 miles an hour. It was two hours in going from Louisville, Ky., to Portsmouth, Ohio. It included in its track the towns and cities of New Albany, Madison, Aurora, and Lawrenceburg, Ind.; Louisville, Frankfort, Lexington, Paris, Cynthiana, Williamstown, Covington, Newport, Augusta, and Maysville, in Kentucky; Cincinnati, Lebanon, New Richmond, Chillicothe, Greenfield, Leesburg, Portsmouth, Athens, and Marietta, in Ohio, besides numerous villages in all these States. It is impossible to estimate the amount of damage done.
