The Association of Glass Oil Can Manufacturers held a meeting at the Monongahela House on October 25. The following firms were represented: Adams & Westlake Manufacturing Co., Chicago; Hemingray Glass Co., Covington, Ky.; Ball Bros., Buffalo, N. Y.; Henderson & Harker, Columbus, O.; Wormser Glass Co., this city, and the mason Fruit Jar Co., Philadelphia. It appears that though the demand for glass oil cans was very active when they were first introduced and for a long time afterward, they subsequently from some unassigned cause declined in popularity, and they have not increased in use as the manufacturers think their merits entitle them to. A committee was appointed to investigate the cause of the falling off in the trade and suggest a remedy. Not withstanding the reports of the condition of business, it was resolved to maintain previous prices. The meeting was a very harmonious one.
