Death of Samuel Hemingray, - It is with regret that we announce the decease of Mr. Samuel Hemingray, so well and favorably known in our midst as the senior member of the firm of Hemingray Bros. & Co., of the pioneer glass manufacturing house of Cincinnati. Mr. H. was born in England in 1817, and came to this country when but eighteen months old. In 1848 he located himself in the firm of Gray, Hemingray & Co., on Hammond street, in our city, and soon succeeded in winning for the establishment with which he was connected, a most extensive trade. In 1852 the works were removed to Covington, and there, from the small beginning of earlier years, the business grew to be more extended still.

As a commercial man Mr. Hemingray was all activity; as a companion his social qualities were such as endeared him to the host of friends and acquaintances by whom he was surrounded.

Thus in the prime of life he has passed away. Many a drone could have been spared from the community, but Death is no respecter of persons, and the announcement that a man of enterprise and energy has been laid low in the midst of his usefulness is a matter of sincere regret. He leaves an interesting family to mourn their irreparable loss.

Mr. Hemingray's funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock, from his late residence, corner of Craig and Bremen streets, in Covington.
