Cincinnati's New Police Commissioner.
CINCINNATI. Dec. 2. - The vacancy in the board of police commissioners mad by the resignation of Robert J. Morgan was filled yesterday by Governor Foraker appointing Maj. James L. Foley to the place. Maj. Foley is president of the Mercantile library and superintendent of the Hemingray Glass Company's works in Covington. He is well known in Covington and Cincinnati, having lived in the former city until recently, when he moved to Walnut Hills. He is the son of ex-Mayor Foley, of Covington, and was prominent as a Republican across the river. During the war he made a reputation as a Union soldier, and at its close was major of a Kentucky cavalry regiment. |
