The case of the commonwealth against the Wormser Glass Co. and Isaac Wormser, of this city, for alleged violation of the provisions of the Factory Act in so far as they relate to the employment of children, came to an end on Thursday last. It was instituted over two months ago by State Factory Inspector Martin, who made the following charges: Employing child labor in their glass factory at Brinton Station (Frankstown); neglecting to post up in the factory lists of all children employed between the ages of twelve and sixteen years; failing to get certificates of ages from parents; and having no register of the names of all such employes. Mr. Wormser pleaded guilty to a four charges, and will be sentenced next week. This suit was mentioned in the JOURNAL when it was first brought, and excited much interest, as being the first of the kind here. It is thought that others will follow.
