ROBERT HEMINGRAY, SR.

Robert Hemingray, 79, a pioneer glass manufacturer of the United States, died Tuesday at 8:45 a.m., at his home 219 Garrard street, Covington, Ky. Mr. Hemingray had been ill for three weeks with heart trouble, but it was not of a serious nature until a few days ago, when he took a turn for the worse. He was it is claimed, the oldest glassware manufacturer in the country. Mr. Hemingray was for many years one of Covington's foremost citizens. Of late years he had retired form active business, leaving his large interests in the manufacture of glassware to his sons. He was born near Johnstown, Pa., and went to Covington in 1847.
