FLINT AND LIME GLASS MANUFACTURERS

ASSOCIATION.

As previously announced, the annual meeting of the above association was held at Atlantic City, N. J., July 20th, and being the 25th annual meeting, the occasion was taken advantage of and socially turned into a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the association. The meeting was the largest attended of any held during the past ten years, the following firms being represented:

Brox & Ryall, Co-Operative Flint Glass Co.; Chapelle & Co.; Dithridge & Co.; Dorflinger & Sons; Geo. Duncan's Sons; Gill & Co.; Gill Bros. & Co.; Gillinder & Sons; E. P. Gleason Co.; Hemingray Glass Co.; Heisey & Co.; Hormann & Son; Macbeth-Evans Glass Co.; McCloy Glass Co.; Marietta Glass Co.; Phoenix Glass Co.; Tarentum Glass Co.; and U. S. Glass Co. Officers elected for next year: President, D. C. Ripley; Vice Presidents, B. Ryall and D. C. Hemingray; Treasurer, Thomas Evans; additional Directors, G. W. Blair, James Gillinder, and H. C. Fry; Actuary, George F. Easton. The reports of the treasurer and actuary showed the association to be in a prosperous condition. In addition to the routine business transacted, the exercises in connection with the 25th year of the organization were very interesting. Messrs. H. D. Murray and Joseph G. Walter, former actuaries, were present by invitation and made short addresses. Actuary Easton read letters from Messrs. J. B. Lyon, C. W. Brockanier, J. H. Hobbs, and Francis Storm, who were valuable members of the association in its earlier years, expressing regret at their inability to be present. Mr. James Gillinder read an able and interesting paper, in which he reviewed the history of the association in its 25 years of existence, and pointed out the great advantages it had been to its members. Through the courtesy of Mr. Gillinder the full text of his paper is printed in this issue.
