GLASS MANUFACTURERS' ANNUAL
MEETING.
At the annual meeting of the Association of Flint and Lime Glass Manufacturers, held July 19 at Atlantic City, the reports of the officers showed the organization to be in a prosperous condition.
The officers elected for the coming year are: president, D. C. Ripley; vice-presidents, D. C. Hemingray and Benj. Ryall; treasurer, Thos. Evans; additional managers, G. W. Blair, Jas. Gillinder, and C. W. Klein; actuary, George F. Easton.
Papers were read by Thos. Evans and Jas. Gillinder — the former on "A Brief History of the Chimney Business," and the latter "The Relation of Skilled Labor to the Successful Production of Pressed and Blown Flint Glassware." Both papers were of great interest, and a vote of thanks was tendered to the writers. The actuary also read statistics showing the approximate amount, in tonnage, of glassware and chimneys produced in the United States in the last fifty years.
Resolutions of regret and respect upon the loss by death of Ferdinand Hormann and Paul Zimmerman were passed and entered on the minutes.
The members present were: Brox & Ryall, Co-operative Flint Glass Co., Dithridge & Co., C. Dorflinger & Sons, Gill & Co., Gillinder & Sons, E. P. Gleason Mfg. Co., Hemingray Glass Co., F. Hormann & Son Co., A. H. Heisey & Co., Macbeth-Evans Glass Co., Marietta Glass Co., Jas. J. Murray & Co., Tarentum Glass Co., United States Glass Co., and Williamsburg Flint Glass Co.
