CAREY IS ACQUITTED Charged with Assaulting an Alleged Wife Beater.
Larry Carey, charged with assault on John Dodd on August 5, was given his trail yesterday. He was acquitted on the ground of self-defense. It will be recalled that Dodd was alleged to have been beating his wife on the date mentioned, and that she called for help. Carey, a next door neighbor, responded. He is said to have told Dodd to cease abusing his wife, whereupon Dodd became incensed, and attacked Carey, who defended himself, it is alleged, with a knife. Dodd has since been in the hospital. |
