Muncie, Ind., Aug 6. - John Dowd was stabbed six times last night and will probably die. It is alleged that Dowd was whipping his wife. Mrs. Larey Carey and daughter next door interfered and it is said he attacked and struck them. Mr. Carey appeared and attacked Dowd with a knife, stabbing him six times in the face and three times in the body, once under his heart, which will likely cause death. Both men are employes at Hemingway's [sic] Hemingray's glassworks and came to Muncie from Covington.
