MAY BE FATAL John Dodd Returned to the Hospital Possibility of His Death Resulting from the Wounds Inflicted by Larry Carey. At an early hour this morning, John Dodd, the man who was cut by Larry Carey, was resting easy at the city hospital, One of the physicians said it was possible that death might result. Dodd received his cuts oxer a week ago, and was in the hospital for a number of days. Recently he was released, but yesterday he was returned to the institution, and the physicians discovered that an artery had burst. This artery is said to have been severed by one of the knife thrusts, and did not heal properly. Dodd lost considerable blood until the doctors made an incision in his head and tied the artery. It will be remembered that Dodd was said to be whipping his wife, and that he turned on Carey, who went to her aid. Dodd also attacked the wife and daughter of Carey, and then the latter drew a pocket knife, and inflicted five wounds in different parts of Dodd's body. |
